In 1861 the legend of William Wallace drew thousands of men, women and children from all across Scotland to The Abbey Craig to witness the laying of the foundation stone for a monument which would salute the country’s greatest patriot and martyr.

Legends at the Monument is managed by Stirling District Tourism Ltd, an independent local charity promoting heritage, history and educational activities in the greater Stirling area.
We provide a welcoming experience for visitors and local residents at our coffee house and gift shop. We use all funds raised to support our educational and heritage activities.
We have provided visitor services at Legends for over 25 years and strive to make a visit to Stirling and the Monument a truly world-class experience.
